Dear ,

This morning, Governor Walz issued an Emergency Executive Order to temporarily close schools from Wednesday, March 18 to Friday, March 27. The Governor stated, "…such action is warranted to allow for planning to continue to provide a world-class education, while preserving the health, safety, and lives of Minnesotans." He further states, "Allowing schools and school districts time to plan without students in the classroom will benefit all of Minnesota."

Following this order, Maranatha’s last day of the third quarter will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020. School will be canceled Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 20, 2020. All Maranatha staff will report during these days in order to refine our remote learning plan for all grades should the Executive Order continue beyond Friday, March 27, 2020. As you are aware, there is no school scheduled over Spring Break, which runs from Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27, 2020.

As of now, Maranatha is scheduled to resume physical on campus classes on Monday, March 30, 2020. We ask that every family continue to pay close attention to communications from the school as this situation remains very fluid.

Important Updates for the week of Monday, March 16:

The previous MSHSL directive prohibiting scrimmages, contests, and competitions for spring activities and athletics will continue until April 6, 2020.
  • As of today, Maranatha is scheduled to resume physical on campus classes on Monday, March 30, 2020.

Thank you for your continued support through this unprecedented time. As COVID-19 is rapidly evolving, we will continue to monitor the most current information and directives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Minnesota Department of Health, the State and Federal Government.

Let me remind you of our truth as sons and daughters of God. Please take a moment to read Psalms 91. I like the Passion Translation. Here’s verses 15 and 16:
"I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel my presence even in your time of pressure and trouble. I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast. You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!"

Serving Him together,

Brian Sullivan
Head of School
